Title I School
SSIS had an uneven level of success in the beginning due to frequent changes in administration. With the hiring of a new Executive Director, the last 5 years have given the school the stability it has long needed; financially, academically and technically. Many positive steps were taken to make the infrastructure solid so that the school could begin to obtain the tools necessary for its success. This includes textbooks, that were long scarce, and technology. The school has invested heavily in technology. Computer labs were established on both campuses. Every staff member was given a brand new lap top. IPods and Kindles were ordered for students. A top computer company, Akuwa, was contracted to upgrade and monitor servers. Qualified computer teachers and technicians were hired and software was purchased. SSIS is now among the most technologically advanced schools in the District.

Academic Eligibility
In order to play for SSIS, you must put your grades first. A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required. If you fail to meet this requirement, you will be dismissed from the team.
Academics are the
#1 priority
Academics are the first priority of all students at SSIS.If a student is behind or missing class work, they will be held out of practice until all work has been completed. Students will always be excused from practices in order to receive extra help from their teachers. Never hesitate to ask questions in fear of missing a practice session.
